Friday Market

Every Friday a traditional market is held in the town with a great diversity of wares for sale in the Market Place and along Market Hill. Gone are the cattle markets, but in their place are stalls selling everything from locally produced fruit & veg, and specialist fine cheeses to Country clothes, nighties and other domestic and garden products – as well as the best chips either side of the border!

Youngmans chips have been selling from Diss Market for over 100 years and many of our stallholders have been traders in Diss for over 40 years or more. The friendly familiar faces are welcoming to all on market day but you can also buy mobile phones, car parts, cakes, hardware and fresh Lowestoft fish.

Diss market is a place to mardle, soak up the atmosphere, hunt for bargains, fill the larder and feel part of a vibrant local community.

Farmers' Market

 On the 2nd Saturday of every month the Diss Farmer's Market is at the Market Place from 9am to 1pm.  This is the place to buy locally produced food direct from the producers: vegetables grown for flavour and with minimal chemicals, beef and pork, free range eggs, home made fudge, apples and apple juice, jams, pickles and cakes, preserves, shrubs, crafts and more.  In order to keep the market vibrant and encourage more stall holders and customers volunteers are being sought to form a support group.  Contact the Town Council office for more details: towncouncil@diss.gov.uk  Click here for the 2012 Farmers Market dates



Continental Market

The continental market visits Diss once or twice a year bringing all the flavours and aromas of Europe to Diss Market Place. The type of stall varies with each visit and can include items such as cheese, olives, bread, cured meats, continental sausages, hot food, handbags & scarves. 

Hiring Diss Market Place

Diss Market Place can be hired by businesses for promotional purposes on a daily basis. Contact the office for more details.
